Recent alerts indicate a rise in targeted Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) activities in the United States. Several organizations across different industries have been affected by these incidents, resulting in disruptions to regular operations and potential financial costs.
Among the targeted organizations, Riot Games, Inc. an American video game developer, publisher, and eSports tournament organizer, was one that experienced such attacks, as claimed by Anonymous Sudan.
DoS and DDoS activities aim to disrupt the normal functioning of networks, services, or servers by overwhelming them with excessive internet traffic. While these incidents can cause temporary operational disruptions and potential financial implications, they can be managed effectively with the appropriate response measures.
